Current MTB-Wales.com route guides

As we add more routes to MTB-Wales.com keeping track of the relevant Tracklogs, Anquet Maps and Memory Map Navigator files, or even the good old-fashioned Adobe Acrobat maps, is going to be increasingly difficult. So we've put together this handy table which contains links to all of the resources for each route including the route description. Where we have partnered with other sites the original route article can be found by clicking the route title - this will take you to our partners site.

If you're not yet a user of the Tracklogs, Anquet Maps or Memory Map Navigator software you can read the exclusive MTB-Wales.com reviews of these by clicking the links at the top of the relevant column.

Routes in Mid-Wales

Route name Author Length (miles) Ascent (feet) Tracklogs Anquet Memory Map PDF
Machynlleth and South of the Dovey Valley (Dovey Valley) from OffroadAdventures-Online.com James Murnaghan 20.5 3,471
Totals: 20.5 3,471

Routes in South Wales

Route name Author Length (miles) Ascent (feet) Tracklogs Anquet Memory Map PDF
Black Mountains Killer Loop (Brecon Beacons) Phil Lee 23.1 4,337
Mynydd How You Go (Brecon Beacons) Phil Lee 15.0 2,530
The Big Gap (Brecon Beacons) Phil Lee 24.1 3,225
Roman the Waterfalls (Brecon Beacons) Phil Lee 13.3 1,539
Turn with the Worm (Gower Peninsula) Phil Lee 22.0 2,441
Cwmcarn, Sirhowy and Bedwas Mountain (South Wales Valleys) Timothy Press 14.3 2,385
Margam Mountain Loop (South Wales Valleys) Andrew Joseph 6.1 689
Totals:   118.7 17,146

Note: the different software vendors (Tracklogs, Anquet Maps and Memory Map) divide the United Kingdom, and therefore Wales, differently. In general if a route is shown as being within one of the National Parks (Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia or Pembrokeshire) then you will be able to use the route with the cheapest of the packages that cover Wales. If the route is shown as being outside of the National Parks then it is likely that you'll need the more expensive version of the software that covers a larger area. For Anquet Maps this means purchasing the GB South product. Memory Map Navigator users will either need to purchase the North Wales, South Wales or possibly even the South-west Britain product.

For futher details of the areas covered, check with the software vendors websites:

If you don't have any digital mapping products and wish to view the downloadable route maps you will need a recent version of the free Adobe Acrobat reader. You can download it from the Adobe website.
