Have only seen a few videos from a couple of years back of the stuff, but I’m assuming it’s still there, what’s it like to ride? Anything new?
Looking to go up there in the week then do the DH trail, though first timer!

    Cheers…

How much would I be looking at if I was to get my forks serviced? I believe they’re 2006? Marzocchi dirt jumper 3′s (air/oil/coil).

And next question would be, where would you recommend getting them done?

+ Just watched that Descent bike Wales video too, fun stuff!

Pretty much sorted now. Still pissing it down with rain so can’t rest it out properly yet but managed to set it up earlier:

Cheers Sean, will take your word for it. Was just being a bit cautious that’s all with regards to the bash ring.
That superstar one you linked looks just great for what I was after, and price is decent. Will take the plunge and order it and see how I get on!!

So basically I’d need this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=11453
And whatever ISCG 05 chain guide I fancy? Would it not require a longer BB then or should it be fine?

e: Or even just this to hold the chain in place, which would replace my supercharger bashring?

Guess I’d need a mount to use the ISCG stuff. Riding a specialized hardrock sport (05/06 or something). Do quite a bit of forest riding/DH stuff on it so takes quite a lot of hit as it is, so ideally would like to keep a bash ring. Currently I’m just running the 32t, got the [...]

After taking her out for a ride yesterday and doing some light jumps on the local pump track the chain keeps coming off. I knew I’d need a chain guide at some point but I have no idea what to get. I’d like something similar to this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=50530 But I’ve got: Square taper BB This [...]

Bit of an update, thought I’d give it a try. Had a quick look in the ‘Zinn and the art…’ book I recently purchased the started stripping things down. Had to change my rear brake leaver to an old one from a different bike as the gears/brake on the left was all in one! Slight [...]

I’m looking to run just the 32 chainring and bash guard on my bike. Is it a simple case of remove the front derailleur from the seat tube , the shifter/cables and removing the 22 CR? Just trying to find out how to remove the 22 CR now, which I’m guessing is by removing the [...]

Cheers for that Kev. That Zinn and the… book arrived this evening so will be going through some of that shortly to have a look what I can get out of it. I’ve got a few tools and a garage to use already so slowly on my way! Had a new chain tool yesterday and [...]

V8′s for me! Never tried SPD’s but quite happy with my current set up. I was told once by some mountain bike mech that I should run SPD if I want to do downhill :|

Just read a couple of reviews on that book now and looks great. Ordered myself a copy so will be having a good look at that when it arrives!! I done some basic bike maintenance course before but didn’t really learn much, and I guess it was solely aimed at complete beginners (only covered ride [...]

Hi, I’m looking to build up on some equipment so I can service/repair/build my bikes myself. What sort of stuff should I start up on? Was given all the necessary tools to change my bottom bracket (bloody square taper keeps dying on me! lol) and just bought a chain extractor so I can sort my [...]
