 Black Mountain Bike Fest July 2010
A weekend mountain bike event taking place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th July in the heart of Brecon Beacons National Park. A mix of music and mountain biking to suit all abilities within the beautiful Black Mountains of Mid Wales.
Tickets
Tickets are priced at £62.50 including onsite camping, Friday/Saturday night food, and route entry, or £26.25 to enter a race (camping/food additional on the day). To book tickets please visit www.adventurecyclingwales.co.uk/event&race.htm
Accommodation
There is a designated campsite for this event - the cost for 2 nights is included in the ticket price.
Food and Drink
There will be food provided on Friday and Saturday night to hungry cyclists which is included in the ticket price. The local rugby club is located near to the campsite and will be serving beverages and additional food over the weekend plus hosting live music. Talgarth also has several pubs and inns.
World Cup
The festival aims to wrap up proceedings well before the World Cup Football Final takes place, on the afternoon of Sunday 11th July. Sports screen available in the rugby club.
Getting there
Talgarth is situated on the A479 between Abergavenny & Builth Wells, and a mile from the A438 between Brecon & Hay on Wye. Nearest train stations are: Abergavenny and Hereford.

 We have a mountain bike friendly cottage to let for weekends/short breaks, sleeps 7, secure bike storage, washdown area etc, located 20mins drive to Brechfa trails, and only 1 mile to the newly opened Forestry Commission Nant Gronw site with fantastic, challenging and quiet mtb routes.  A group of us riders are currently in the process of sorting out some sponsored events to raise money for the forthcoming Children in need show.
We are very much in the planning stage at the moment but are aiming to have a main event on Friday 20th November which is the night of the Children in Need show. We are planning on a fun 12 or 24hr endurance event possibly in the form of a stair ride, based in Cardiff either around the assembly or bay area.
If your not involved in the endurance event it would be great to have riders around and about in the infamous riding gear drumming up support and raising extra money.
More information will be supplied as we organise this further. It would be great to get a good number of riders involved in this and raise money for a good cause.

Singletrack mind trail repair dates.
|
|
 Singletrack Mind mtb club are planning trail repairs over the coming months.
We will be looking for volunteers to help with trail repairs on Sunday25th October and 29th November.
Please let us know who will be available asap so we can work out how much work we will be able to do.We expect to work for 3 or so hours followed by a short ride.
You can let us know if you want to help by posting up on the thread of the same topic.

Penmachno Trails Closed - 17th October 2009

 Both Penmachno Trails will be closed on Saturday 17th October because the Cambrian Rally will be taking place in the surrounding forest. The closure will affect Loop 1 (Dolen Machno) and Loop 2 (Dolen Eryri). Any queries to bikes@penmachno.net, Many thanks
